Certified Phlebotomist – Full-Time

About the role

Evergreen Family Medicine, a drug‑free workplace serving Roseburg and surrounding communities, is seeking a Certified Phlebotomist to join its outpatient clinics. The role involves collecting blood and other specimens while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary (finger or heel stick) procedures to obtain blood samples.
• Collect urine or other specimens following established protocols.
• Greet patients, verify identity, explain procedures, and provide compassionate care.
• Label, process, store, and transport specimens while maintaining chain‑of‑custody.
• Maintain a clean, sterile work area and follow infection‑control and OSHA standards.
• Accurately enter patient information, test codes, and collection times into electronic systems.
• Obtain vital signs, assist with training new staff, and monitor inventory.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
• Current phlebotomy certification.
• Knowledge of venipuncture, capillary collection, and laboratory test requirements.
• Strong communication skills with a patient‑focused approach.
• Empathy, patience, and professionalism when working with anxious individuals.
