Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant – Inpatient PRN

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide routine inpatient rehabilitation treatments on an as‑needed (PRN) basis. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, delivering patient‑centered care in the OLG Ortho Hospital Inpatient Rehab unit.

Key responsibilities

• Perform occupational therapy treatments as prescribed by the physician and supervised by a licensed OT.
• Document patient progress in daily notes and communicate any status changes to the supervising therapist.
• Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with documentation standards and policies.
• Participate in staff and committee projects and achieve productivity targets set by administration.
• Educate and train others within the discipline as needed.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
• Eligibility for state occupational therapy assistant licensure and a current license prior to start date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• No prior experience required; prior COTA experience is preferred.
