Certified Nursing Assistant – MedSurg/Telemetry (Days)

About the role

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will support the MedSurg/Telemetry unit during day shifts, providing basic patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role focuses on patient safety, observation, and communication with patients, families, and the care team. The CNA will work collaboratively with the nursing team to deliver compassionate care and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support the plan of care as delegated by the staff nurse.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment.
• Observe patients continuously, report changes in behavior or status, and intervene to ensure safety.
• Communicate patient needs effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Complete accurate documentation of patient‑related tasks.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hospital and telemetry experience preferred.
• Current state CNA certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certifications to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
