Certified Nursing Assistant – Medical/Surgical/Telemetry (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct patient care on the Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit. This full‑time position works 3 × 12‑hour shifts, including days, nights and one weekend day.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support meals, feeding, ambulation, turning, and positioning of patients.
• Administer enemas, douches, non‑sterile dressings, surgical prep, ice/heat packs, therapeutic baths, and restraints.
• Perform urine testing, specimen collection, and post‑mortem care.
• Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests.
• Transport patients and equipment, and maintain a safe environment.
• Report patient conditions to the assigned nurse and record vital signs, intake, and output.
• Assist patients with walking, exercising, and bed transfers.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience (entry‑level acceptable).
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Commitment to university core values and ability to handle confidential information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
