Certified Medical Assistant - Urology Clinic

About the role

This role provides individualized medical care to assigned patients in person, electronically and via telephone under the supervision of a licensed health‑care provider. The Certified Medical Assistant supports patients and providers throughout the visit, ensuring preparation, clear communication, and accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the patient and provider throughout each visit, preparing the exam room and ensuring all necessary materials are ready.
• Answer patient questions, provide excellent service over the phone and in person, and complete registration and documentation as needed.
• Maintain up‑to‑date clinical knowledge, technical skills, and required credentials through ongoing professional development.
• Adhere to Department of Transportation workplace drug and alcohol testing programs when applicable.
• Adapt communication style to respect patient privacy and cultural preferences, obtaining necessary permissions before procedures.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED (required); completion of a formal medical assistant training program (preferred).
• Experience handling confidential information in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Medical Assistant Certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Required skills

• Clinical knowledge relevant to urology and general patient care.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications for documentation and data entry.
