Certified Medical Assistant 3 – Hybrid

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Neurology department seeks a full‑time Certified Medical Assistant 3 to provide hands‑on patient care in a hybrid setting. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed physician, the MA supports clinical procedures and ensures high‑quality, culturally competent care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist providers with physical examinations and prepare exam rooms with necessary supplies.
• Manage patient communications, including calls, messages, scheduling, and follow‑up coordination.
• Process medical records, handle prior authorizations, and support fast‑track clinic operations.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards while delivering patient‑centered care.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Minimum four years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant.
• Current certification such as CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or NRCMA.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Florida HIV/AIDS continuing education certification.
