Certification and Conformance Specialist – Personal Safety

About the role

This role offers the chance to join 3M’s Personal Safety Division and lead certification activities for hearing protection and protective communication equipment, working with global teams of innovative 3Mers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify regulatory product certification requirements for hearing protection and protective communications products.
• Prepare, maintain and submit regulatory documentation for product certification schemes.
• Work with test labs, notified bodies and agencies to submit products for certification and arrange manufacturing site audits.
• Collaborate with portfolio leaders, engineers, quality and manufacturing to provide regulatory input for new product projects.
• Engage with regulatory authorities for post‑market follow‑up activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) completed prior to start.
• At least five years of regulatory experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Experience in occupational health and safety, scientific, electronics or engineering disciplines is a plus.

Required skills

• Knowledge of hearing protection standards.
• Experience with electrical safety, intrinsic safety and RF.
• Regulatory documentation preparation and submission.
• Product certification processes for PPE.
