Central Service Technician – Full‑Time Days Shift

About the role

The Central Service Technician works under the guidance of the Senior Technician or Department Manager to ensure safe and efficient sterile processing of medical instruments and equipment. This full‑time, days‑only position is essential to maintaining the hospital’s infection‑control standards.

Key responsibilities

• Apply Standard Precautions at all times while handling instruments and equipment.
• Perform all phases of decontamination for instruments, carts, and equipment (commodes, I‑meds, isolation carts, wheelchairs, stretchers, etc.).
• Operate washer‑decontaminators, cart washes, and steam guns.
• Inspect, assemble, and package instruments for the OR, CT‑OR, Cath Lab, EP Lab, X‑ray, ER, Sleep Lab, and off‑site locations.
• Run sterilizers (STEAM, ETO, STERRAD) and maintain accurate sterilizer logs.
• Use heat sealers, labeling guns, and drying cabinets; document results on log sheets.
• Delint, fold, and assemble reusable linen according to protocol.
• Restock hemodialysis, minor‑procedure, and Prisma carts.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: 1 year of related sterile‑processing experience.
• CS Tech certification (preferred but not mandatory).

Required skills

• Operation of washer‑decontaminator and cart wash equipment.
• Use of steam gun for instrument cleaning.
• Proficiency with sterilizers (STEAM, ETO, STERRAD).
• Heat sealer, labeling gun, and drying cabinet operation.
• Instrument inspection, assembly, and packaging.
