Cardiac Sonographer – Cleveland Clinic Main Campus

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute is seeking Cardiac Sonographers to perform advanced cardiac imaging and support physicians in diagnosing cardiovascular disease. This full‑time position works a day shift on the main campus.

Key responsibilities

• Operate sophisticated diagnostic ultrasound equipment to acquire real‑time images of heart chambers, valves, and great vessels.
• Perform routine and complex echocardiograms, stress studies, and intra‑operative imaging.
• Adjust transducers, set up equipment, and ensure quality control and safety standards.
• Identify significant structures, artifacts, and pathology, and assist physicians during imaging procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Sonography, Vascular Technology, Exercise Science, or completion of an accredited cardiac ultrasound program (minimum 18 months).
• At least 2 years of full‑time echocardiography experience or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and ability to obtain RDCS or RCS credential within one year of hire.

Required skills

• Proficiency with diagnostic ultrasound equipment.
• Knowledge of M‑mode, 2D imaging, and Doppler calculations.
• Understanding of cardiac hemodynamics.
• Computer literacy and ability to learn related software programs.
