Campus Safety Monitor – Part-Time

About the role

The Campus Safety Monitor provides a visible, reassuring presence on the Southern Regional Technical College campus, helping to maintain a safe learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. This part‑time position works evenings Monday‑Thursday and a full day on Friday, offering an hourly wage of $15.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of campus buildings and grounds on foot, vehicle, or golf cart.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and report suspicious activity.
• Assist with traffic flow, parking enforcement, and crowd control during events.
• Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and medical situations.
• Provide escorts and information to students, employees, and visitors.
• Inspect fire extinguishers and assist with fire alarm response.
• Participate in emergency procedures such as lockdowns, evacuations, and severe weather protocols.
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority under the Clery Act, forwarding crime reports to Campus Police.

Required profile

• Ability to work evenings and a full daytime shift on Friday.
• Strong communication and customer‑service orientation.
• Willingness to enforce campus policies and traffic regulations.
• Physical capability to conduct patrols and respond to emergencies.

Required skills

• First aid certification.
• Surveillance camera monitoring.
