Campus Police Officer – Alpharetta Campus

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a full‑time Campus Police Officer to provide law‑enforcement services on the Alpharetta campus of Gwinnett Technical College. Reporting to the Chief of Police, you will help maintain a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Guard and monitor campus buildings, respond to alarms, and investigate disturbances.
• Investigate criminal complaints, vehicle accidents, and other incidents.
• Coordinate with State Patrol and neighboring law‑enforcement agencies.
• Apprehend suspects and turn them over to local jurisdiction.
• Conduct fire and environmental safety inspections.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid POST certification.
• Ability to pass pre‑employment drug testing, fingerprinting, background checks, psychological evaluations, and ongoing random testing.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
