About the role
The State of Georgia is seeking a Cadre Worker to support the Youth Challenge Academy (YCA) at Fort Gordon. This position provides mentorship, discipline, and a structured environment for at‑risk youth aged 16‑18.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and train cadets in a quasi‑military program that includes physical training, character development, and academic support.
- Monitor, discipline, and mentor youth throughout the 22‑week residential phase.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and secure living environment for cadets.
- Provide non‑professional counseling and on‑site crisis assistance as needed.
- Assist with post‑residential phase planning, including education, vocational training, or employment pathways.
Required profile
- Compliance with Army grooming regulations (AR 670‑1) and ability to obtain religious or medical accommodation waivers if needed.
- Willingness to work with at‑risk youth in a structured, disciplined setting.
- Ability to work full‑time or part‑time as required by the program.
