Business & Industry Services Specialist

About the role

The Business & Industry Services Specialist supports the Economic Development Division by coordinating training and continuing‑education programs for private and public organizations across Central Georgia. This full‑time position works primarily on the Macon campus and involves regular travel within the college’s service area.

Key responsibilities

• Promote continuing‑education programs and customized training to businesses, public agencies, and correctional facilities.
• Develop course curricula, schedules, training aids, and evaluation methods.
• Deliver on‑site and off‑site training sessions for industry partners.
• Oversee course evaluations, training outcomes, and post‑training reporting.
• Order, inventory, and maintain equipment and supplies needed for instruction.
• Implement and enforce OSHA safety procedures in all training environments.
• Maintain accurate training files and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the division.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum three years of documented experience in a business environment.
• Knowledge of community and industry training needs and standards.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Organizational ability and proficiency with standard computer applications.
