Business Development Officer / Manager

About the role

OMA New York is seeking a Business Development Officer / Manager to support and drive business development activities across the Americas and Japan. The role involves responding to public procurement bids and private enquiries, researching new markets, and maintaining a comprehensive database of business development materials.

Key responsibilities

• Research and assess potential new projects and market opportunities.
• Prepare RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and fee proposals for public and private opportunities.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date overview of potential projects and related efforts.
• Organise and update a database of past proposals, project information sheets, CVs, portfolios, presentations, and other marketing collateral.
• Produce regular progress updates and coordinate with internal teams and external partners.
• Contribute to shaping business development strategy for the Americas and Japan, where experience permits.
• Manage relationships with partners, clients, and collaborators, and lead assessments of new opportunities.
• Mentor junior team members and set quality standards for submissions.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Urban Studies, Design, Communications, Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar business development role, preferably within an internationally recognised architecture firm.
• Proven experience responding to time‑sensitive RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs in the United States.
• Pro‑active, hands‑on, self‑motivated attitude in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
