Building Inspector – Residential & Light Commercial

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a qualified Building Inspector to join its Pocono Pines office. You will conduct inspections of new residential and light‑commercial construction projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. This full‑time, onsite position offers the chance to work with a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive inspections of residential new construction and light‑commercial projects, covering structural, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, green building, and fire protection systems.
• Evaluate findings, compile reports, and issue standard construction and occupancy permits.
• Approve final inspection certificates and maintain accurate inspection records.
• Ensure compliance with Pennsylvania UCC, ICC, and local codes.
• Assist with additional duties as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma (associate’s degree preferred).
• 2‑5 years of experience as a certified building inspector or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current PA UCC certification; ICC combination inspector certification is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (Spanish bilingualism is a plus).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
