About the role
The State of Georgia seeks a compassionate, board‑certified physician to deliver comprehensive medical care to residents of the Gracewood campus, a 420‑acre facility serving individuals with developmental disabilities.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct thorough medical evaluations, including physical exams, history reviews, and diagnostic testing.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, prescribe medications, and develop individualized care plans.
- Order and interpret laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic studies.
- Monitor patient health, medication adherence, and progress toward treatment goals.
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to ensure holistic care.
- Provide preventive care, health education, and counseling to patients and families.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records in compliance with regulations.
- Participate in on‑call rotations for emergency coverage.
Required profile
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current, unrestricted Georgia medical license.
- Board certification in a primary‑care specialty (e.g., Internal Medicine, Family Medicine) or an appropriate specialty.
- Minimum two years of post‑residency clinical experience, preferably in residential or long‑term‑care settings.
- Strong diagnostic abilities and excellent communication skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
