Board Certified Hematopathologist – Full-time Physician

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a board‑certified or board‑eligible Hematopathologist to join its Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in New Orleans. This full‑time position offers a collaborative environment with a team of hematopathology, HLA/transfusion, and anatomic pathology physicians. The role includes clinical duties, laboratory oversight, and participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret bone marrow and lymph node specimens.
• Provide hematopathology consultations and flow cytometry interpretation.
• Oversee clinical pathology laboratory operations and quality committees.
• Participate in tumor board meetings and laboratory stewardship activities.
• Assume medical directorship responsibilities as needed.

Required profile

• Board certification or eligibility in Hematopathology by the start date (Molecular Pathology preferred).
• New graduates are welcome; must hold required certification.
• Commit to a standard schedule of 8 am‑5 pm, Monday‑Friday with shared night/weekend call.
