Bartender - The Meadows Music Theater

About the role

The Meadows Music Theater in Hartford is hiring a Concessions Bartender. The role centres on positive guest interaction while accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests and servers in a friendly and efficient manner. The venue is managed by Legends Global, a hospitality agency covering professional sports, collegiate, attractions, entertainment, international and convention events.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, take beverage orders from restaurant servers or directly from guests, and mix drinks and cocktails to order in line with company standards
• Use high-quality spirits, liqueurs, fruits, fresh herbs and spices to create drinks, and work with the culinary team on mixers and garnishes
• Serve wine with proper service techniques, explain its characteristics and suggest options based on guests' needs
• Check guest identification to verify age requirements for alcohol, collect payment, balance receipts and handle an assigned bank following cash-handling procedures
• Keep the bar stocked, prepare inventory or purchase requisitions, and serve food items to guests seated at the bar
• Maintain a clean, organised work area and cater storage areas, and attend mandatory meetings
• Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required profile

• At least two years of experience as a bartender
• Ability to work long hours and flexible shifts, including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
• Extensive knowledge of drink recipes, wines and food and beverage products, menus and promotions
• Ability to read, speak and write English and to remember and promote menu items
• Personal hygiene and a well-groomed appearance; ability to lift up to 50 lbs continuously
• Working email to communicate with managers

What we offer

• Pay of $14 per hour plus tips
