Back Office Supervisor (LPN) – Primary Care

About the role

The Back Office Supervisor (LPN) supports the Practice Operations Supervisor and the clinic leadership in daily clinical operations of a pediatric primary‑care practice. This position trains and validates competency of clinical support staff, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and provides hands‑on clinical care when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily clinical workflow and provide on‑floor coverage.
• Serve as primary trainer and competency validator for medical assistants and LPNs, including onboarding, orientation, skills assessments, and continuing education.
• Develop and update training materials, competency checklists, and conduct periodic observations.
• Monitor quality assurance, infection‑prevention, and safety compliance, coaching staff on best practices.
• Act as triage liaison and escalation point for clinical issues.
• Perform point‑of‑care testing and support floor coverage as required.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of LPN experience in a pediatric primary‑care setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited LPN program.
• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.

• Basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Point‑of‑care testing procedures.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, immunizations, and safety standards.
