AWS Engineer

About the role

Sparksoft is seeking an AWS Engineer to drive cloud infrastructure automation and support its government client portfolio. Working under the DevOps Manager, you will collaborate with scrum teams to embed DevOps practices and build robust AWS environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and configure AWS cloud environments and related tools.
• Implement security controls and monitoring best practices to address cybersecurity challenges and ensure high availability.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using CloudFormation and Terraform scripts.
• Support the creation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines that trigger automation suites.
• Coordinate with development contractors and Cloud/DevOps engineers to configure network connections across mainframe and cloud infrastructures.
• Execute implementation plans for services such as load‑balanced EC2 scaling groups and Lambda functions.
• Lift‑and‑shift third‑party tools to the cloud and perform unit testing of automation scripts.
• Document architecture best practices and maintain 100% uptime for AWS resources.

Required profile

• Proven experience with core AWS architecture, including Organizations, VPC, Subnet design, and segmentation strategies.
• Hands‑on experience monitoring and securing EC2 instances, containers, and other AWS services.
• Familiarity with executing CloudFormation stacks, StackSets, and Terraform deployments.
• Understanding of network connectivity options such as AWS Direct Connect.
• Ability to work in Agile environments and participate in all Scrum ceremonies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for troubleshooting and stakeholder interaction.
