About the role

The AV Support Specialist I provides essential audio‑visual, workstation, and printer support for classrooms, conference rooms, and computer labs at Texas A&M University. This staff position works on‑site in College Station, ensuring technology operates smoothly for students and faculty.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and upgrade AV hardware, workstations, and printers across designated spaces.
• Troubleshoot and resolve audio‑video, workstation, and printer issues.
• Provide centralized support for on‑campus and regional classroom and lab environments.
• Monitor system security and recommend hardware upgrades and peripheral specifications.
• Manage incidents through the division’s Incident Management Platform, adhering to SLA response times.
• Assist with inventory, contractor coordination, and project support for departmental initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least one semester (four months) of student‑worker or customer‑service experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to train and supervise student workers.

Required skills

• Audio‑video hardware installation and maintenance.
• Video/web conferencing systems and CODECs.
• Printer support and troubleshooting.
• Basic system security awareness.
