Automotive Service Technician

About the role

The Mills Auto Group in Pineville, NC is seeking a full‑time Automotive Service Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair customer vehicles. The role combines hands‑on mechanical work with strong customer service, ensuring each vehicle leaves the shop in optimal condition.

Key responsibilities

• Examine vehicles based on customer concerns and service requests.
• Perform basic maintenance such as tire rotation, fluid level checks, and oil changes.
• Repair or replace worn components including spark plugs, wheel bearings, brake pads, fuel system parts, and sensors.
• Test systems and individual parts to verify proper operation.
• Follow detailed checklists to ensure thorough inspections.
• Identify mechanical and electrical issues using computerized diagnostic equipment and visual inspection.
• Determine appropriate repair strategies based on research, peer input, and experience.
• Execute repairs accurately while adhering to original repair plans and customer specifications.
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the service process.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic computer skills; certification from a vocational school is a plus.
• Strong verbal communication to explain repairs to customers and colleagues.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to lift 50 lb unassisted.
• Critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities.
• Mechanically and analytically minded.
