About the role
The U.S. Marine Corps is recruiting qualified attorneys to serve as active‑duty Judge Advocates. In this position you will provide legal support across a wide range of practice areas, including criminal and civil litigation, international affairs, and administrative law, directly influencing military operations worldwide.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel to commanders and Marine units on operational, administrative, and international matters.
- Prosecute and defend cases in courts‑martial and other military tribunals.
- Handle civil litigation, contract disputes, and regulatory compliance for the Marine Corps.
- Advise on international law, rules of engagement, and humanitarian considerations.
- Support mission planning by ensuring legal compliance with national and international statutes.
Required profile
- U.S. citizenship.
- J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school (or currently pursuing).
- Age under 41 years.
- Ability to meet the Marine Corps physical fitness standards.
- Willingness to serve as a commissioned officer.
