Attending Veterinarian

About the role

The Attending Veterinarian provides veterinary leadership for animal welfare, regulatory compliance, and clinical oversight at Clinvet NY. This role ensures the Animal Care and Use Program meets IACUC, QMS, and study requirements while supporting research timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Animal Care and Use Program, ensuring humane care, ethical use, and program effectiveness.
• Provide veterinary oversight of animal health, housing, monitoring, treatment, and overall well‑being.
• Manage compliance with IACUC, SOPs, GLP/GCP, QMS and other regulatory standards.
• Oversee animal facility operations, staffing, biosecurity, and readiness for research studies.
• Develop and train animal care and veterinary staff, fostering continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Current, valid New York State DVM license and degree from an accredited program.
• Minimum 3 years experience in veterinary care, animal facility operations, or regulated research environments.
• Proven experience leading animal welfare programs and staff training.
• Experience identifying compliance risks and supporting audits or inspections.

Required skills

• IACUC compliance and oversight.
• GLP/GCP knowledge.
• Quality Management System (QMS) implementation.
• Animal welfare and biosecurity practices.
