Associate Vice President, Strategic Communications

About the role

Precision is seeking an Associate Vice President to lead strategic communications for a diverse portfolio of clients, including nonprofits, advocacy groups, media start‑ups and industry leaders. The role is based in New York (or Washington, DC) and operates in a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day client relationships across multiple accounts, managing timelines, deliverables and issue resolution.
• Lead creation of high‑impact communication materials such as message frameworks, press releases, op‑eds, speeches and presentations.
• Strategically engage media, cultivate relationships and identify high‑value story opportunities.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams (communications, data, creative, paid media) to deliver cohesive campaigns.
• Drive projects from inception to completion, overseeing small teams and ensuring alignment with client goals.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in communications within in‑house, government or consultancy settings.
• Proven ability to manage strategic communications programs and sensitive issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Creative, energetic, entrepreneurial mindset and ability to handle multiple clients simultaneously.
