Associate Vice President, Financial Management

About the role

The Associate Vice President, Financial Management will oversee daily financial management services and provide executive support to the Senior Vice President for Business Affairs and the CFO at Prairie View A&M University. This senior leader collaborates with the Controller and key business affairs partners to drive financial performance and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and manage financial management units, ensuring adherence to university, system, state, and federal regulations.
• Serve on the executive team of the Senior Vice President for Business Affairs/CFO, contributing to strategic financial decisions.
• Develop, monitor, and report financial key performance indicators impacting university operations.
• Evaluate and mitigate campus financial issues, providing analysis and forecasts as needed.
• Review and approve financial reports and projections, supporting executive decision‑making.
• Engage with university units to support planning, budgeting, and financial operations.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in higher‑education financial management or large‑scale corporate finance.
• Proven leadership ability to manage multidisciplinary financial teams.
• Strong knowledge of university, state, and federal financial regulations.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with senior university leaders.
