Associate, Strategic Communications

About the role

Precision is seeking an Associate to join its Strategic Communications team in New York, NY (or Washington, D.C.) to develop and execute communication strategies for a diverse client base, including corporate leaders and advocacy groups.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operational needs of client accounts, ensuring accurate materials, timelines, and project trackers.
• Produce first‑draft communications such as press releases, pitches, op‑eds, and thought‑leadership pieces.
• Support media relations, including list development, reporter outreach, coverage tracking, and interview coordination.
• Collaborate across internal teams, present to peers and clients, and mentor junior staff or interns.
• Deliver high‑quality work on time, keep documents organized, and connect tasks to broader client goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Political Science, or related field.
• 1+ year of experience in a communications role (in‑house, agency, political campaign, government, or consultancy); internships considered.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to adapt tone for different audiences.
• Excellent research, organizational, and multitasking abilities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Interest in corporate, advocacy, or political campaign environments and press relations.
