Associate Principal Electrical Engineer – Interconnection Studies

About the role

Revamp is seeking an Associate Principal Electrical Engineer to lead interconnection and power system studies for utility‑scale solar and storage projects across the United States and Canada. The role is remote‑friendly and involves direct responsibility for project scopes, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead interconnection projects across multiple ISOs (ERCOT, PJM, CAISO, MISO, SPP, NYISO) and utility/cooperative systems.
• Develop and oversee steady‑state and dynamic interconnection models, perform RMS and EMT studies using PSS®E, PSLF, and PSCAD, and manage grid‑following and grid‑forming inverter modeling.
• Prepare and present technical reports, study results, and mitigation recommendations to clients, ISOs, and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with FERC Orders, NERC reliability standards, and IEEE 1547/2800 requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering (Power focus preferred) with 8+ years of power system study experience.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams, manage client relationships, and mentor junior staff.
• Strong technical writing skills for formal submittals and compliance documentation.

Required skills

• PSS®E, PSLF, PSCAD, ASPEN software proficiency.
• Interconnection modeling for large generators and loads across multiple ISOs.
• Experience with RMS, EMT, grid‑following (GFL) and grid‑forming (GFM) inverter models.
• Knowledge of ISO/utility study processes, FERC Orders, NERC standards, IEEE 1547/2800.
