Associate Director of Development – Leadership Annual Giving Officer

About the role

The Associate Director of Development serves as a Leadership Annual Giving Officer (LAGO) for Drexel University. In this hybrid role, you will engage donors, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and students to build and steward philanthropic relationships that support the university’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a monthly outreach plan in coordination with the Assistant Vice President of Leadership Annual Giving.
• Maintain a schedule of approximately 12 donor visits per month (face‑to‑face, virtual, or phone) that move prospects forward.
• Identify, qualify, and cultivate donors with giving capacity of $2,500 to $49,999, and transition high‑level donors to the major‑gift pipeline ($50,000+).
• Update the prospect pipeline and enter proposals of $10,000 or more.
• Promote participation in the Anthony J. Drexel Society through annual contributions of $2,500 or more.
• Collaborate with the alumni engagement team to recruit volunteers and promote alumni events.
• Represent Drexel University to constituents and the broader community, traveling regionally as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated experience in fundraising, donor cultivation, and pipeline management.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse university constituencies.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout the greater Philadelphia area.
• Ability to work independently and meet performance goals set by Institutional Advancement leadership.
