Associate Director, Advocacy Impact

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking an Associate Director to shape and execute high‑impact advocacy strategies that advance our mission for people affected by crisis. This senior position sits within the Global Policy and Advocacy team and will drive innovative, measurable advocacy campaigns at both the country and global levels.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement targeted advocacy strategies aligned with IRC’s top priorities and the Refugee, Asylum, and Integration (RAI) portfolio.
• Integrate country‑program crisis priorities with RAI objectives to create a unified, high‑visibility IRC voice.
• Lead the design of bold campaigns, high‑impact visits, and compelling written products that influence policy and public opinion.
• Develop new models of advocacy engagement, including virtual program visits and coordination mechanisms for locations without a dedicated advocate.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure advocacy efforts translate into measurable, at‑scale impact.
