Associate DevOps Engineer

About the role

Veeva Systems is looking for an Associate DevOps Engineer to support the AWS and Kubernetes analytics infrastructure of its NitroAI team, which serves a 50-person global business consulting team. The role keeps the platform reliable and secure, with real ownership of the day-to-day components, and requires both solid technical fundamentals and a customer-service mindset when working with internal engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation of the AWS and Kubernetes platform, monitoring reliability and performance and flagging issues before they become incidents.
• Build and maintain GitOps deployments, syncing policies, deployment ordering and configuration management.
• Support CI/CD pipelines: maintain GitLab pipelines and runners, and help teams troubleshoot failed builds and deployments.
• Act as first responder on platform incidents: triage, escalate and help document post-mortems.
• Maintain observability through monitoring, alerting and log visibility.
• Help migrate the consulting team onto a new AI-native stack and support the build of the NitroAI application.

Required profile

• 1+ years of hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset; comfortable being accountable to engineers waiting on you.

Required skills

• GitLab CI/CD, including runner management and Bash scripting for deployment tasks.
• Familiarity with GitOps practices (ArgoCD or similar).
• Exposure to Terraform or another infrastructure-as-code tool.

Nice to have

• EKS/Kubernetes RBAC and IRSA experience.
• Broad AWS fluency (Lambda, ALB, WAF, CloudFront, Secrets Manager, Route53, KMS, ECR).
• Apache Airflow via MWAA and proficiency with Claude Code.
• Exposure to compliance and security-baseline work.
