Assistant Superintendent - Commercial Construction

About the role

Great States Construction, a leading commercial general contractor, is seeking a motivated Assistant Superintendent to support field operations on multi‑family and commercial projects in the Bismarck market. This position reports directly to the Superintendent and offers a pathway to a future Superintendent role.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent with daily field operations, site coordination, and subcontractor management.
• Support safety enforcement, ensuring OSHA and company policy compliance.
• Monitor and document quality control throughout the project.
• Maintain daily logs, reports, and project documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and help resolve field‑related issues.
• Contribute to punch list completion and project closeout.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of field construction experience, preferably on multi‑family and commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and job site safety practices.
• OSHA certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Clean driving record and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Procore (preferred) and Bluebeam.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
