Assistant Security Account Manager

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring an Assistant Security Account Manager in Tallahassee, Florida. The role supports the Account Manager with supervisory, training and operations functions at the assigned post, in line with post orders and client instructions. A week-long management onboarding course is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the technical and managerial execution of the security contract at the assigned location and assign work tasks to Security Professionals
• Serve as the first point of contact for shift supervisors or Security Professionals on performance, operations and department needs, and supervise, motivate, coach and train staff
• Evaluate the work performance of Security Professionals and recommend assignments
• Maintain the Post Order manual and keep the post clean, organized and properly maintained
• Help interview and evaluate new hires, and conduct on-the-job training and orientation with Shift Supervisors
• Oversee reports, logs and pass-downs, distribute information to post, and manage sub-units such as the fire control room, command center and loading docks
• Handle minor incidents, respond to client or site emergencies, and identify personnel issues such as payroll or employee relations problems
• Recommend counseling or disciplinary action, including termination, and may administer it at the direction of the Account Manager with HR approval
• Occasionally stand post as a Security Professional, but no more than 50% of the time in any week

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; 3 to 5 years of professional-level experience
• Prior experience in the security industry, law enforcement and/or military required
• Valid state Guard License, or application and issuance of one before employment; must keep it active and carry it on duty
• Background investigation and pre-employment drug/alcohol test required
• Valid driver's license with at least one year of driving experience and a clean record
• Available to work outside normal shifts and reachable 24/7 for emergencies

Preferred qualifications

• College education or business classes
• Experience in scheduling, operations or other security functions
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and email
