Assistant Scientist

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth department of SCCC seeks a full‑time Assistant Scientist to advance its research agenda and contribute to the scientific community through publications and grant acquisition.

Key responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and analyze experiments supporting basic and applied research projects.
• Collaborate with senior staff to publish findings in refereed journals and prepare technical reports, patents, and agency documents.
• Write extramural grant proposals and manage experimental data for project oversight.
• Request and acquire equipment and supplies needed for assigned projects.

Required profile

• Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree.
• Minimum of one year of relevant research experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and judgment skills.

Required skills

• Ability to collect, organize, and analyze scientific data.
• Proficiency in using internet resources, surveys, and legal documents for information gathering.
