About the role
The Department of Mathematical Sciences seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Statistics to begin in August 2027. This nine‑month faculty appointment involves research, teaching, and service responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate statistics courses (approximately 40% of effort).
- Maintain an active research and publication agenda in statistics or a closely related field (approximately 40% of effort).
- Provide advising and mentorship to MS and PhD students and contribute to departmental service (approximately 20% of effort).
Required profile
- Ph.D. in Statistics or a closely related field earned by the start date.
- Evidence of an active or potential research agenda in statistics, with a record of refereed publications and potential for external funding.
- Commitment to teaching statistics at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to mentoring students in research.
