Assistant Professor of Clinical Otolaryngology – Neurotology

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a surgeon‑scientist otologist to lead an independent clinic and advance research in neurotology. This full‑time faculty appointment balances clinical care, research, and teaching responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive otology clinical services, including new consults, pre‑operative workups, postoperative follow‑ups, and management of hearing loss, ear infections, dizziness, tumors, Meniere’s disease, tinnitus, and vestibular migraine.
• Perform office‑based procedures such as cerumen cleaning, intratympanic injections, tympanostomy tube placement, Epley maneuver, mastoid debridement, ear biopsy, myringoplasty, and ear endoscopy.
• Utilize the on‑site ambulatory surgical facility for microscopic and endoscopic tympanoplasty, mastoidectomy, ossiculoplasty, and related ear surgeries.
• Engage in didactic teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, and supervise trainees during patient care.
• Participate in departmental, school, and hospital committees, and contribute to scholarly activities such as Grand Rounds.

Required profile

• MD or DO, board eligible or board certified in Otolaryngology‑Head and Neck Surgery.
• Completion of an advanced otology fellowship (preferred) and a Florida medical license.
• Demonstrated interest and experience in neurotology/otology research.
