About the role
The University of Arkansas at Monticello seeks an Assistant Professor to lead a nationally‑recognized research program in forest ecohydrology. This tenure‑track, 12‑month position balances research (≈70%) with undergraduate teaching (≈30%). The successful candidate will develop grant proposals, publish scholarly work, and mentor students.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and maintain an innovative research program in forest ecohydrology.
- Develop and submit grant proposals to secure external funding.
- Publish research findings in peer‑reviewed scientific journals.
- Recruit, supervise, and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
- Teach undergraduate (and potentially graduate) courses in watershed management and related topics.
- Collaborate with faculty, stakeholders, and regional partners on cooperative research projects.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in natural resource management, ecosystem ecology, ecohydrology, forest hydrology, wetlands ecology, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated ability to obtain research funding.
- Active record of scholarly publications.
- Commitment to high‑quality teaching and student mentorship.
