About the role

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Louisiana State University seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor on the tenure‑track in medical physics and health physics. The position involves research, teaching, and supervision of graduate students within a CAMPEP‑accredited program.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a cutting‑edge research program in medical imaging physics, nuclear medicine physics, radiotherapy physics, or radiobiology.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and supervise MS and PhD students.
• Develop collaborations within the university and with the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in medical physics, physics, or a related field with post‑doctoral training and scholarly activity.
• For associate‑professor level: minimum three years of assistant‑professor experience, strong publication record, teaching experience, and national/international reputation.
