Assistant Nurse Manager, Neuro OR – Night Shift

About the role

The Assistant Nurse Manager supports clinical supervision and coordinates operations for the Neuro Operating Room at the new state‑of‑the‑art Neurological Institute. This night‑shift position (6:00 pm‑7:30 am) ensures seamless patient care and unit performance while the Nurse Manager is absent.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit staff, other departments, and external services regarding patient care issues.
• Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, transfers and ensure continuity of information between shifts.
• Review major operational patient‑care issues with the Nurse Manager and provide clinical evaluations of nursing staff.
• Administer corrective actions, monitor attendance, and alert the Nurse Manager to significant performance concerns.
• Participate in hiring, orientation, performance appraisal, and quality‑improvement projects.
• Prepare work schedules, supervise daily patient care delivery, and ensure adequate staffing coverage.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Ohio.
• Minimum two years of recent clinical nursing experience.
• Demonstrated clinical knowledge, strong oral and written communication, and analytical abilities.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Scrubbing and circulating experience in an operating‑room setting (preferred).
