Assistant Engineer – Roadway Design (Transportation)

About the role

Wood Rodgers is seeking an Assistant Engineer to support roadway design projects within its Transportation Department. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience across highways, bike trails, pedestrian facilities and related infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare engineering analyses, designs, calculations and cost estimates for roadway and transportation structures.
• Assist in layout and plan preparation alongside senior designers.
• Develop technical specifications and contribute to proposal and report writing.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• 0–5 years of relevant experience.
• E.I.T. certification or ability to obtain within six months.
• Strong analytical abilities, ability to manage multiple projects, and effective communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Experience using Civil3D.
• Competence in Microsoft Office Suite.
