Delivery/Shipping Coordinator

About the role

The Delivery/Shipping Coordinator is responsible for creating efficient trucking routes that balance cost control with customer scheduling requirements. This full‑time position works closely with carriers, warehouse staff, and sales teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate, distribute, and communicate orders to material pullers for picking, packaging, and loading onto delivery trucks.
• Schedule and manage daily delivery routes, maintaining ongoing communication with carriers throughout the day.
• Partner with management to adjust routes based on customer needs and operational priorities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, drivers, sales staff, and customers.
• Monitor route conditions, including traffic disruptions or construction, and proactively adjust plans to ensure on‑time deliveries.
• Respond to last‑minute changes, including urgent or emergency pickups and deliveries.
• Communicate delivery updates or delays to sales staff and customers as needed.
• Assist with order pulling and support warehouse operations when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of experience creating delivery routes and dispatching drivers in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of the geographical area of operation and navigation skills using maps and GPS.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Detail‑oriented with accurate record‑keeping capabilities.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

What we offer

• Hourly wage ranging from $23.50 to $31.00, depending on experience.
• Full‑time schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.
