Assistant Director, Childcare Center

About the role

The Assistant Director supports the Director of Childcare Centers by planning, monitoring, and directing activities at the Child Development Centers. This full‑time position ensures compliance with Technical College System of Georgia policies and accreditation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare reports in the requested format and timeframe.
• Monitor personnel activities to ensure compliance with TCSG policies and department procedures.
• Assist in developing and revising policies and procedures to meet program goals.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of program areas, state and federal laws, and provide updates to management.
• Evaluate employees regularly and adjust services as needed.
• Represent the college at local civic, community, and business meetings.
• Maintain accurate records and serve as a liaison to internal and external customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
• At least two years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to meet background‑check requirements of the GA Bright From the Start program and TCSG.
• Preferred knowledge of NAEYC accreditation, Bright from the Start guidelines, and positive guidance systems such as Conscious Discipline.
