Assistant Controller – Finance & Accounting

About the role

The Assistant Controller is responsible for overseeing the organization’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with relevant regulations. The role manages the production of financial reports, maintains robust accounting systems, and supports strategic decision‑making through financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures, and manage outsourced accounting functions.
• Oversee the accounting department’s operations, including workflow, personnel management, and supervision of subsidiary entities.
• Lead the monthly, quarterly and year‑end close processes, including revenue, inventory, AR and AP management.
• Prepare accurate financial statements, budget‑to‑actual variance analysis, and ensure SOX compliance.
• Coordinate payroll administration with HR and manage the relationship with the PEO.
• Build, mentor and lead a high‑performing accounting team while fostering continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration (MBA preferred).
• CPA designation required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting and compliance.
• Experience with ERP systems implementation and project management.
