Assembler/Tester – Manufacturing (Cleveland, OH)

About the role

Moog is seeking an Assembler/Tester to join its Space and Defense Group in the Cleveland area. The position is onsite, working either the 1st or 2nd shift, and focuses on building and testing fiber‑optic components and related assemblies.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble fiber‑optic cables, transceivers, and related parts using hand tools, fixtures, and specialized equipment.
• Perform precision measurements to ensure component fit and compliance with specifications.
• Execute multiple phases of the assembly process, including inspecting, cleaning, terminating, polishing, testing, and packing.
• Troubleshoot and repair non‑conforming assemblies to meet customer requirements.
• Follow test documentation, run functional tests, and record pass/fail results.
• Set up, calibrate, and change over testing platforms safely and accurately.
• Handle materials within an Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controlled environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Attention to detail and ability to follow detailed work instructions and drawings.
