Machine Operator I

About the role

Moog is seeking a Machine Operator I to join its Space and Defense Group in Orrville, Ohio. The role involves operating core shop equipment on a first‑shift schedule, contributing to the production of high‑performance components.

Key responsibilities

• Operate basic machine shop equipment such as lathes, mills, band saws, overhead cranes and tow motors.
• Perform basic shop‑floor math and follow work instructions to ensure accurate production.
• Inspect work for quality and quantity, meeting schedule requirements.
• Identify abnormal conditions, stop work when necessary and troubleshoot issues.
• Learn and apply Moog’s operating systems and inspection procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (preferred) and ability to understand English work instructions.
• At least one year of manufacturing or production experience.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

• Operation of lathes.

• Basic knowledge of inspection equipment.
