Armed Security Officer - Vehicle Patrol

About the role

Allied Universal is hiring an Armed Custom Protection Officer (CPO) in Woodland Hills, California. The CPO conducts armed foot and/or vehicle patrols (interior and/or exterior), controls access and egress, monitors CCTV and alarm systems, writes reports and helps deter criminal activity and misconduct. Shifts are days and overnight.

Key responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter, monitor entrances and exits, and observe departing personnel to prevent theft
• Investigate and write reports on accidents, incidents and suspicious activity, keeping required logs
• Aid customers, employees and visitors courteously and professionally
• Make emergency notifications per site Post Orders, and recommend productivity improvements, physical security surveys and post orders to management

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of armed security, law enforcement or military experience
• One of: military service in a law enforcement-related specialty (military police, combat arms, special forces), or 2+ years as a sworn officer carrying a firearm with no disciplinary action
• Exposed firearm, Guard Card, driver's license, and completion of BSIS 40-hour PTA and continued training
• Equipment: baton, pepper spray, handcuffing; ability to operate radio, telephone equipment and/or console monitors
• Age 21 or older
