Part-Time Security Guard, Third Shift - Peoria Civic Center

About the role

Legends Global, which manages public assembly facilities, is hiring a part-time Building Security Guard for the Peoria Civic Center. The guard controls access to the facility and patrols the building and grounds to prevent loss from theft, fire, vandalism and other hazards. The position is hourly, non-exempt and reports to the Security Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol the facility as scheduled and respond to requests and emergencies according to policy and procedures.
• Unlock and/or lock doors before and after events and secure the facility when unoccupied.
• Verify visitor authorization and assist visitors and employees as needed.
• Complete daily reports and maintain lost and found articles.
• Perform event alcohol ID checks, fire extinguisher and sprinkler inspections, and issue parking violations according to procedure.
• Maintain the vehicle log and check-out system, and maintain flag displays as directed.
• Respond promptly to radio and telephone calls, write maintenance work orders for hazards found during patrol, and carry out other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Fluent English and basic computer skills for email, a time clock, telephone and video monitoring equipment.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, including extended or irregular hours.
• Must be at least 18 years old; a background check may be required.
• Able to walk extended distances, navigate stairs and lift up to 25 lbs.
