Armed Security Officer - Patrol Documentation

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring an Armed Security Officer in San Diego, CA. The officer serves and safeguards clients across a range of industries, monitors and patrols assigned areas, maintains a visible presence to deter incidents, responds to security concerns and delivers customer service. The role is full time, pays $28 per hour and runs day shifts from 10:00 PM to 06:00 AM.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees and visitors while carrying out security procedures, site policies and emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms and critical situations, escalating concerns through established reporting channels.
• Carry out regular and random armed patrols of buildings, access points, parking areas and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location, verify credentials as required and report suspicious activity, hazards or policy violations.
• Carry assigned equipment in line with laws, licensing requirements, company policies and site procedures.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• An armed guard card or license; a valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.
• High school diploma or equivalent; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state and local laws and may be needed before employment.

Preferred qualifications

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience.
• Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
