Armed Security Officer – Hertford, NC

About the role

Vaxcom Services, Inc, a Parsons company, is seeking an Armed Security Officer to protect a federal facility in Hertford, North Carolina. The role requires a Secret clearance and the ability to respond to a wide range of incidents while maintaining strict security protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Control access to the facility by monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting vehicles, and verifying identification for all personnel.
• Respond to incidents using the appropriate level of force, up to armed response, in accordance with the Use of Force Policy.
• Handle emergencies such as fire, medical events, bomb threats, hazardous material incidents, and inclement weather.
• Observe, document, and report suspicious activity or security breaches.
• Maintain proficiency with assigned weapons, equipment, and control devices.
• Complete 40 hours of annual in‑service training.

Required profile

• Active Secret security clearance.
• College certificate, two to four years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum two years in law enforcement, corrections, security, or the U.S. Armed Forces.
• Pass an annual physical fitness test (1.5‑mile run, push‑ups, sit‑ups).
• Meet NC PPSB certification standards for Glock 17 pistol, Remington 870 shotgun, and M‑4 Carbine.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Completion of FEMA Courses 100, 200, 700, and 800.
