Architect IT Applications

About the role

Garmin is looking for a full‑time Architect IT Applications to join its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this senior position you will shape the architecture of multiple business applications, ensuring they meet performance, security, scalability and maintainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver reliable solutions to complex business problems.
• Identify and implement architectural improvements across applications.
• Lead large‑scale development, integration and implementation projects.
• Review technical designs and code changes, providing guidance to development teams.
• Create and maintain technical roadmaps and enforce development standards.
• Communicate architectural concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Evaluate new technologies and advise on broader technology strategies.
• Mentor less‑experienced team members and collaborate with directors, managers and project managers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or a related field.
• Extensive experience in software architecture and application design.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑component projects and influence technical direction.
• Strong understanding of enterprise business processes and the ability to translate them into technical solutions.
